WIN: Spoil dad with an exclusive tour and tasting at De Toren Private Cellar

In celebration of Father’s Day on 20 June 2021, Stellenbosch Visio is giving away two sets of double passes to a luxury tour and wine tasting at Stellenbosch’s inimitable De Toren Private Cellar, ranked as one of the top 10 red wine producers in South Africa.

The boutique estate is not only one of the country’s most respected premium wine producers, but its panoramic vistas – stretching from the Helderberg, over False Bay and across to Table Mountain – are a joy to behold.

Driven by a pioneering spirit to reinterpret the concept of Bordeaux wines, De Toren utilised 25 different clones across the five noble Bordeaux varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot – which were matched to 10 different rootstocks before being planted across 15 different soil types. Each variety, clone and rootstock was matched to the optimal soil type to gain as much complexity from the vineyard as possible.

De Toren has recently opened the doors to the estate’s revamped manor house, and two lucky Stellenbosch Visio Dads stand a chance to experience the luxurious tasting room at first hand. A must for wine aficionados, De Toren’s private wine tastings and cellar tours – which are by appointment only – are set to impress.

The luxury tour and tasting, priced at R500 per person, offers a rare insight into the craftsmanship of De Toren’s world-renowned wines. This exclusive and guided tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and includes a walk through the vineyard, cellar and barrel rooms. The tasting of four luxurious wines will follow: De Toren Délicate, De Toren Z, De Toren Fusion V and either Book XVII or The Black Lion.
