Cabernet Franc Experience at Uva Mira

Cabernet Franc, one of the wine world’s most intriguing and elegant red varietals, has found a distinctive voice in the vineyards of Uva Mira.

Sporting one of the most awesome views in the region, Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards is nestled against the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain Range, reaching elevations of up to 620 metres above sea level, and only 9 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean. Cooled by ocean breezes, the estate’s unique site yields wines of elegance, freshness and purity.

Their newly launched The Cabernet Franc Experience is dedicated to exploring this noble varietal in its purest form. The experience includes four wines – two single-varietal Cabernet Francs and two Cabernet Franc-led Bordeaux blends – each served in varietal-specific Riedel glassware to enhance the expression and character of the wine.

Among the highlights is Fox’s Lair, the newly released Cabernet Franc-led Bordeaux Blend destined to become one of the Cape’s modern classics. Fox’s Lair brings together Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon in a beautifully composed wine showing floral lift, fine tannins and mineral precision. Matured for 18 months in French oak and crafted in limited quantities, the 2022 Fox’s Lair has just been released.
