National Braai Day 2022

Heritage Day has earned its highlighted mark on our calendars as an opportunity to celebrate South Africa’s many cultures and traditions. National Braai Day, as it has colloquially become known, is an initiative uniting all South Africans around a braai, celebrating and sharing together.

This year, Banhoek Chilli Oil continues to innovate within the brand’s Taste Kitchen and beyond, as they proudly launch Zero Waste Briquettes. Produced entirely from chilli waste, these specially made charcoal briquettes give a great aroma when lighting the fire and signify the brand’s commitment to eco-consciousness and a commitment to sustainable farming.

Set within the beautiful Banhoek Valley, all Banhoek Chilli Oil products are available for purchase at the Banhoek Chilli Oil factory shop and family-friendly Taste Kitchen. Be sure to pop by for fuss-free, delicious dishes, created with Banhoek Chilli Oil as the star of the show. Also on offer is an array of award-winning local wines, best enjoyed out on the sun-drenched deck with access to the area’s renowned trails, as well as a child-friendly play area. The Taste Kitchen is open from 09:00-16:00 on Wednesdays, and 09:00-20:00 on Thursdays to Sundays. Walk-ins welcome and no bookings necessary.
