The new GLC is even more dynamic, powerful, and sustainable, setting fresh standards for striking design in the compact luxury SUV segment. The brand-new model, which is locally available only as a mild hybrid, is sure to thrill both adventurers and families with its combination of dynamic driving enjoyment, modern design, and functions.

Since its global introduction, 2.6 million customers have decided in favor of a model in this popular SUV series, making it a massive success in the South African market and one of the most important vehicles in Mercedes-Benz’s product portfolio. Mark Raine, Co-CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa and Executive Director: Mercedes-Benz Cars South Africa, believes that the new GLC will continue this success story into the future.
Sensual purity, intelligence, and emotion
The new GLC is immediately recognizable as a member of the Mercedes-Benz SUV family. It comes standard with the AVANTGARDE exterior with a Chrome package that includes chrome window surrounds and a new, chrome-look simulated underguard. These striking design features enhance the unique proportions of the vehicle, adding to its appeal.

The GLC also exudes intelligence and emotion, as Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes-Benz AG, points out. He believes that with its beauty and exceptional flair, they have been able to create the modern luxury that is the hallmark of Mercedes-Benz.
Modern, sporty luxury interior
The interior of the GLC is equally impressive. The dashboard is clearly structured, and the 12.3-inch high-resolution LCD screen in front of the driver appears to float freely before the wing profile and trim area. The 11.9-inch central display rises seamlessly and without joints from the center console, adding to the modern, sporty luxury of the vehicle.

The door panels of the GLC have a highly reduced design, with the door center panel evolving from a vertical surface into a horizontal orientation. Reflecting the design of the center console, the front section takes the form of a metallic high-tech element that can be used as a grab or closing handle and houses the power window controls.

The avant-garde seat design of the new GLC plays with layers and contoured surfaces, lending them visual lightness. The head restraints and their connection to the backrest with an enclosed cover have been redesigned, and some trim elements have innovative surfaces, including new interpretations of open-pored veneers in brown tones and an open-pored, black wood veneer featuring fine, form-following inlays in real aluminum.
The new GLC continues the Mercedes-Benz tradition of combining sporty design with the best materials and construction to create a product that’s second to none in its segment. With its modern, sporty luxury, striking design, and exceptional flair, the new GLC is sure to thrill adventurers and families alike.
