50 Shades of Fairytales @ Drama Factory – 9 to10 August 2019
We start learning about fairytales and happily-ever-after before we can even walk. Then we grow up. Some of us wonder what ever happened to the fairytales and some of us never believed in them in the first place. This whimsical and quirky song revue depicts the journey of two women (both played by Titilayo Adedokun) who evolve through their personal experiences of love, its challenges and its consequences. A collection of witty and thought-provoking songs that will leave you laughing, crying and oh-so identifying with the characters.
Developed and performed by: Titilayo Adedokun
Directed by: Heike Brunner
Runtime: 60mins
Celebrate International Cat Day @Cat Heaven Rescue Cat Café & Gift Shop In Somerset West
In honour of International Cat Day (which is celebrated annually on 8th August), Cat Heaven invites cat lovers to join their “cat-spirational” celebratory event.
Cat lovers are invited to spend the day with 20 beautiful cats and celebrate their rescue from the shelter. As South Africa’s first Rescue Cat Cafe, our mission is to bring awareness to abandoned and abused cats/animals, to encourage the public to “rather adopt than shop”. Cats are not toys. They have a heart, a soul and feel pain and joy as we humans do. In the month of July, patrons of the Rescue Cafe can bring a picture of their own cat and it will be displayed in the indoor cafe. In turn you will receive a number for the lucky draw on the 9th August 2019.
1st prize – a voucher to the value of R600 for a meal for two at Henri’s Restaurant in Somerset West. 2nd and 3rd prizes – gifts to the value of R200 for your lucky cat. Winners must be present at the time of the draw.
Please note no children under the age of 6 are allowed inside the Rescue Café. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, cakes, cookies, biltong, popcorn and Pedal Pops will be on sale. Guests will be able to browse in the paw-some cat-inspired gift shop.
When: Friday 9th August between 10h00 and 14h00. Lucky draw @ 12h00
Where: Cat Heaven Rescue Cat Café (non-profit organisation), 35 Bright Street, Somerset West

Spoegwolf @ Stellenbosch Stadsaal – 8 August 2019
Spoegwolf, collaboration with Stellenbrau and KWV Brandy presents: Spoegwolf, Herman Kleinhans and Uncle Spike live in the one-and-only Stellenbosch Stadsaal.
Earlier this year the band made the momentous achievement of being the first Afrikaans band to reach the number one spot on Apple Music. One of the hardest working bands in the industry, Spoegwolf’s music is a thought-provoking listening experience. It challenges and delights anyone who listens to the band’s music. With their intelligent lyrics and rich sound, Spoegwolf have all the ingredients necessary to make their music stand out from what is available in the current Afrikaans market.
