Try a legendary coffee @Legado Coffee Roasters

Legado Coffee Roasters opened their flagship store in Stellenbosch just in time for Spring. The beautifully aesthetic coffee shop can be found in one of Stellenbosch’s most lively areas, which speaks to the true character of the shop. So, in the pursuit of the perfect cup, pop by Legado Coffee Roasters’ flagship store at 19 Andringa Street.

First Fizzdays return – Simonsig Wine Estate – 3 October 2019

 

Join us on every first Thursday of the month this season as we invite you for Sundowners with Kaapse Vonkel on our lawns.

Relax and unwind under our trees in the beauty of the Cape Winelands with Cap Classique, tapas and oysters, and live music.

Entrance is free, glass deposit is R30. No BYO food or wine allowed, but feel free to bring with your own picnic chairs, glasses and blankets. Wine and food sales start at 17h30 and the wine bar closes at 20h30.

Simonsig First Fizzday starts on 3 October 2019, with the last one of the season taking place on 2 April 2020. This season the event is weather dependent so keep an eye on our social feeds for updates closer to the time.

Opening of Pivnushka Beer Garden @Hazendal Wine Estate – 6 October 2019

Situated in Hazendal’s newly revamped historical Kraal, the Pivnushka Beer Garden is a place for friends and acquaintances, families and colleagues to gather against the beautiful backdrop of Simonsberg and the Bottelary Hills in the Stellenbosch Winelands to make a toast to happiness and health.

The Pivnushka Beer Garden is offering a selection of the finest local craft beers and ciders, wines from Hazendal’s cellar and an array of virgin cocktails which can be taken up a notch with the help of our master mixologists.

Expect a novel take on traditional pub fare with a unique German-style open-fire cooking menu with a contemporary Russian and South African twist. Imagine tucking into mouth-watering peri-peri chicken, BBQ lamb, pizzas, Bratwurst, fresh salads or something different such as pork shashlik or seafood plov.

Cross Country Run @Val de Vie Estate – 6 October 2019

Discover the scenic running routes of Val de Vie Estate and enjoy a day out in the beautiful Cape Winelands at Cross Country Run presented by Bergstreme Developments, followed by the Val de Vie Market with polo, kids activities and live music.

RIDING

Breedenet Cape Duo Challenge @Bosman Family Vineyards – 4 October 2019 

Three days, two bikes, one challenge. Ride through the picturesque scenery of the Bosman Family Vineyards in the ultimate gruelling cycling experience.

Trailfun @CY Market – 5 October 2019

Start the morning with a 5km or 10km trail run, then explore the CY Market at no charge.

First-timers and easy-going runners can enter the short Route of 5km, while the seasoned campaigners can have a bash at the longer route of 10km. This is a relatively flat route with no steep inclines. Its a great recovery run for those who have completed the WCAC Battle of Blaauwberg Hill.

The CY Market will be celebrating their 11th year of decor, food and wine in the Durbanville area. There will be lots of prizes up for grabs with a bonus free entry for runners to the market. This includes 150 decor displays, food trucks, wine, gin, beer on tap, good coffee and kiddies entertainment.

Stellenbosch University Choir@Endler Hall

The Stellenbosch University Choir – who have been ranked first on the Interkultur`s ranking list of 1000 international choirs – under the leadership of Andre van der Merwe, is one of the oldest and most celebrated choirs in South Africa and is comprised of students from various academic and cultural backgrounds creating an intoxicating energy in the performances. Catch them in their second last performance of the season

Spring Celebration Music Concert and Open Garden @Johnman Music Centre – 5 October 2019

 

The Dorothy and Charles Johnman Education Trust presents a Spring Celebration with a concert performance by the Music Centre teachers and an opportunity to walk through the Old Cape garden.

A selection of refreshments will be available. Plants and locally produced products will be for sale.

Stellenbosch Wine Festival Joburg@ Wanderers Club

Over 40 Stellenbosch wine estates will participate in this year’s festival, which will be held over two days at the Wanderers Club Cricket Fields in Illovo. Some of the estates to look forward to, among many others, are Kaapzicht, L’Avenir, MiddelvleiKleine Zalze and Spier.

Every imaginable varietal will be on offer for you to swirl, sniff and sample, and once you’ve tasted a wine you love, you’ll be able to purchase it right there – at the same price you’d pay at the estate.
