Constantia’s most popular garden party comes to the Winelands, Trailfun are hosting their final event for the season at D’Aria, Europe’s most successful saxophonist Andrew Young is bringing his music to Oude Libertas Amphitheatre while Kaleidoskoop adds local flavour to Boschenmeer’s musical picnic.

Somerset Fresh Fine Wine and Food Festival @Morgenster – 8 December 2019
Constantia’s favourite garden party, Constantia Fresh, is bringing its popular annual fine food and wine festival across the bay to Somerset West to welcome their own version of Fresh this summer.
The fresh green lawns of Morgenster Wine & Olive Estate is where you’ll find foodies and wine enthusiasts on Sunday, 8 December 2019 for the inaugural Somerset Fresh Fine Wine & Food Festival. Over 200 wines will be available for you to swirl, sip and savour, while you nibble on gourmet canapés prepared by some of the region’s most talented chefs.
Tickets include a festival glass, tasting of over 200 wines, as well as the gastronomic extravaganza on offer. Live music will be part of the afternoon’s entertainment. The event runs from 14h00 to 18h00.

Spier Light Art @ Spier Hotel & Wine Farm 6-7 December 2019
Join a procession across a multi-sensory, cross-cultural wonderland featuring dancers, stilt walkers and other illuminating enchantments at the opening ceremony of Spier Light Art.
At the opening ceremony of Spier Light Art on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December 2019, these performances will celebrate the launch of the second edition of Spier Light Art – an array of 21 interspersed light and sound installations created by some of South Africa’s leading artists and designers.
Choreographer Jay Pather’s performance piece, From Before, will feature 22 Shembe, classical ballet and Bharatha Natyam dancers – all wearing light-infused costumes. Other performances include a new production by the spectacularly athletic Indoni Dance Company and a production with large puppets by Janni Younge.

Europe’s most successful saxophonist, Andrew Young, will once again bring his own blend of smooth jazz, blues, pop and rock to the amphitheatre.
Andrew’s ability to bring something new and fresh to every performance has created a following of fans eager to see his concerns and shows with performances sold out year after year.
Andrew’s special guest is Titilayo Rachel Adedokun, who was born in Nashville, Tennessee, USA to parents of Nigerian origin. Ms. Adedokun’s talent and experience span different musical genres from classical, musicals and spirituals to jazz, blues, Latin and African music. She is known for her versatility, her range and her unparalleled ability to captivate an audience.
Titilayo has toured Europe with several productions including Musetta in “La Boheme”, Kate in “Kiss Me Kate”, soloist in “Night Fever: Die Gala Der FilmMusicals” and as Billie Holiday in the JazzMusical “Ella & Billie”. She is often featured as soloist with “The Wine & Roses Swing Orchestra”.

Trailfun @D’Aria – 7 December 2019
This is Trailfun’s final event for the year. Next year they will return to Simonsig on 25 January 2020. The new venue offers a choice between a 5km, full 10km and a full 14km trail. Bundle this with a bottle of crisp white wine and you have a great start to your festive break.
The dress theme for this event is festive red and green (with elf ears and Santa hats).

Kaleidoskoop Picnic @Boschenmeer – 8 December 2019
Boschenmeer, situated in the picturesque valley on the outskirts of South Africa’s third-oldest town, Paarl, will be hosting Kaleidoscope this Saturday for a very special musical picnic. Kaleidoskoop is an Afrikaans music group that composes their music from a positive yet realistic point of view that provides a much-needed message of hope. With colourful harmonies and sharp polyrhythmic acoustic instruments, Kaleidoscope takes on a whole range of musical forms at Boschenmeer this weekend.
