With most of the locals headed up the coast for the long weekend, Stellenbosch becomes a quieter, more laid back affair. That doesn’t mean you’ll be left wanting for things to do! Check out the legendary Jesse Jordan at De Akker, take the kids to a petting zoo and grab some fresh air under a starlit sky as the Galileo Open Air Cinema screens Legends of the Fall at Hoogeind Manor.

From winning a national talent competition (Shell road to fame) & getting a major record deal with Universal to starting the JJB (Jesse Jordan Band) and recording 4 albums, hundreds of live shows in countless live music venues and festivals in South Africa as well as Namibia and Europe and opening for top acts such as Rodriguez and Johnny Clegg. Doing a compilation of original and pop rock acoustic covers, Jesse honed his ability to entertain & give 150% in every performance. Make sure you don’t miss his performance at Akker on Good Friday!

Easter picnic fun for the family at Grande Provence

Hop on over and celebrate Easter Sunday in the Franschhoek winelands at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate. Enjoy a family picnic complete with an Easter egg hunt for the little ones, live music, and a wide variety of delicious treats.

Besides the traditional Easter egg hunt, children will be entertained with decorating a giant Easter egg, face painting, a jumping castle and a variety of lawn games. Adults can look forward to a laid back afternoon with fine Grande Provencewines and an Easter food basket filled to the brim.

A touch of tradition at Nederburg this Easter

As summer draws to a magnificent close, the Nederburg wine farm is getting ready to welcome visitors to its home in Paarl during Easter. Find out why Nederburg was recently included for the fourth consecutive time in the World’s Most Admired Wine Brands top 50 list by Drinks International.

Chef Lisa Cilliers of The Red Table, situated in Nederburg’s historic manor house, will be serving up a selection of delicious dishes from the restaurant’s à la carte menu, expertly matched with some of Nederburg’s award-winning wines. Given the Easter tradition, there will be plenty of fish to feast on. Think along the lines of smoked smoor snoek and cauliflower rice, lightly curried with sambals, green chutney and sweet potato crisps; and fresh fish of the day and chips with tartar sauce. Surprise blackboard specials and pre-booked picnics will also be on offer.

Easter Indulgences Await at the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa

Executive Chef, Stephen Fraser, will be presenting his popular Sunday lunch on the 21st of April 2019 in the Manor Kitchen, featuring exceptional sharing dishes and platters for the whole family to enjoy. The Galileo Open Air Cinema presents Legends Of The Fall at Hoogeind Manor Venue, under the stars!

In early 20th-century Montana, Col. William Ludlow (Anthony Hopkins) lives in the wilderness with his sons, Tristan (Brad Pitt), Alfred (Aidan Quinn) and Samuel (Henry Thomas). Eventually, the unconventional but close-knit family encounters tragedy when Samuel is killed in World War I. Tristan and Alfred survive their tours of duty, but, soon after they return home, both men fall for Samuel’s gorgeous fiancée, Susannah (Julia Ormond), and their intense rivalry begins to destroy the family.
