Buying into this particular burger means more than just a mouthful. It is an investment in the mental wellbeing of young minds that matter. Community Keepers delivers free, professional psychosocial support to learners, educators and parents at 23 school-based offices in Cape Town, Stellenbosch and surrounding areas.
This year’s event will be hosted by Nooitgedacht Wine Estate, a historic Winelands gem, on Thursday 12 September. Master bakers and community favourites Fritz and Chanelle Schoon of SCHOON Eating will spoil guests with canapés, a showstopper gourmet burger and dessert, accompanied by welcoming drinks, fine wine and coffee. Waggle a paddle to bid on an array of auction items that combine unique experiences and products.
Community Keepers provides quality psychosocial support on par with the private sector, yet at a fraction of the cost (R200 per session compared to R800 – R1000) and at no charge to the direct beneficiaries. A school-based office costs R400 000 to establish and operate for one year. With a waiting list of over 50 schools, Community Keepers aims to operate 100 schools by 2025. Help them to achieve their #100×2025 goal by attending The Most Expensive Burger in Town or visit www.communitykeepers.org for support options.
Only 200 seats available, so don’t sleep on this one.
