Stellenbosch Triennale 2020 guided tour

Presented by Stellenbosch VisioToyota US Woordfees Festival-goers can take one of two guided tours of Triennale exhibition, presented by Dr. Mike Mavura (Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography) and Francé Beyers (editor of Stellenbosch Visio).

Guests meet at the Woodmill Lifestyle Center, Vredenburg Road, Devon Valley. The Wordfees shuttle service will transport guests and return them to their car.

The Stellenbosch Triennale Art Ecosystem Tour

The Stellenbosch Triennale Art Ecosystem curated tour is a 6 days package made up of 4 days in Cape Town and 2 days in Stellenbosch. Several dates are available and listed below.

Tour highlights

First up, in Cape Town, you will see the touristic highlights such as Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden – both forming part of the Cape Floral Region, which takes up a mere 0.04% of the world’s land area, yet contains an astonishing 3% of its plant species. Visiting this biodiversity hot spot is sure to be a fascinating experience, thanks to your well-informed guide. Stellenberg gardens are also on the list; this heritage estate is a hidden secret and boasts exquisite formal gardens.

You’ll also explore Cape Town’s vibrant art scene: charming fisherman’s village Kalk Bay; gritty Woodstock with its contemporary galleries; Salt River street art & visit crafters to see their work. You’ll also tour the awe-inspiring, newly opened Zeitz MOCAA, cutting edge Norval Contemporary and the South African National Gallery.

These experiences are all interspersed with lunches at some of the Cape’s premier gourmet and wine destinations.

Then it’s on to Stellenbosch to experience the installations and performances of the Stellenbosch Triennale first-hand. In between these immersive art experiences, you will also visit some renowned wine farms and restaurants for tastings and tours. Another highlight in your trip is a walking tour of the private sculpture garden of world-famous wildlife sculptor, Dylan Lewis.
