Experience the hopes and dreams of Stellenbosch’s students in this new evolving, interactive art installation.
The Stellenbosch University (SU) Museum is hosting a collaborative art project called #FirstImpressions. This hands-on, evolving art installation primarily serves as an introduction to the museum for newcomer first-years, but the entire SU community, alumni and the general public are all welcome to participate. The event is free. The project is inspired by a wishing well. Each participant is handed a tag. On one side, they will be asked to write down their first impressions of Stellenbosch, and their hopes and dreams for Stellenbosch for the next 100 years on the reverse. These wishes are then thrown into the ‘well’.
The #FirstImpressions art installation can be accessed on a walk-in basis from 09:00 until 16:30 on weekdays until 22 February 2018. The University Museum is located at 52 Ryneveld Street, Stellenbosch. It is open from 09:00 to 16:30 on Mondays to Saturdays and is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Entrance is free.
