What do you get when you combine remote wilderness, toe-tapping tunes and one of the Cape’s prettiest camping spots? Only the perfect recipe for a soul-restoring weekend away.
From 28 February to 1 March 2020, CapeNature will join forces with acclaimed South African singer-songwriter Jimmy Nevis for the second edition of Camp-Out 2020, a two-night musical camp-out experience in the heart of the Cederberg.
Campers will pitch their tents at Algeria campsite, located about 215km north of Stellenbosch, and enjoy a variety of musical performances in an outdoor amphitheatre. The talented line-up of artists features Jimmy Nevis with supporting acts Acoustic Element, Paxton, Rowlene and Dani Bagel.
The second edition of Camp-Out builds on the success of the original event, which was held last year in support of CapeNature’s conservation efforts and to kickstart the institution’s 20 Years of Conservation celebrations.
Celebrating nature
On collaborating for round two, the multi-nominated Jimmy said he didn’t have to think twice.
“I love nature and I’ve learnt so much from CapeNature about conservation and respecting this incredible natural space. I am particularly excited about the single tickets available for my fans this year and for the people who love both nature and music. I want young people to see nature as a space for them to come out, enjoy, and appreciate places that are a big part of our heritage,” says Jimmy.
Ticket prices range from R700 for a single plot-sharing ticket (you will be allocated a plot) to share with 5 other people for 2 nights and R2,680 for an entire plot for a group up to 6 people for 2 nights.
The price includes daily conservation fees, a camping space, ablution facilities, braai and picnic spots, live music entertainment, walking and hiking trails and swimming in the river. Food, tents and transport are excluded.
In addition to top-class entertainment, campers can look forward to food stalls, tastings and taking advantage of the many activities and attractions in the area.
