With Valentine’s Day this weekend, Uva Mira Mountain Vineyards’ Sing-a-Wing Sauvignon Blanc is more than just a wine. This vinous delight also tells the story of a loving couple and the touching term of endearment, “Sing-a-Wing”.
A poem, aptly titled “LOVE MY WIFE”, was written by Uva Mira owner Toby Venter’s father, O.T. Venter Senior, to his wife, Margaret, in celebration of the couple’s 25th wedding anniversary. Today, in loving memory of the couple, the poem appears on this elegant Sing-a-Wing Sauvignon Blanc‘s neck tag:

2020 Sing-a-Wing Sauvignon Blanc
The grapes for this wine were selected from Uva Mira’s high-lying Sauvignon Blanc vineyards on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain range facing the Atlantic Ocean. Early morning sea breezes cool the vines resulting in superb natural acidity and freshness in the wine. Decomposed granite soils contribute to the impressive minerality on the palate. An expression of sophistication, elegance and purity.
The exceptional delicate flavours of select parcels deemed them worthy of being released as Sing-a-Wing Sauvignon Blanc: a wine that is handcrafted in a mineral driven style with delicate, nuanced flavours and superb ageing potential.
