The annual Radio Helderberg Women’s event was held in the Camphor Ballroom at Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa on Wednesday 31 July and the evening was, as always, an elegant affair. On arrival, ladies were welcomed with a glass of pink Lourensford MCC Rosé 2014 and Chef Stefan Bekker tantalised the tastebuds with sushi and dumplings, served with ginger-infused soya and pickled ginger.
Master of Ceremonies Danie and Anele from Radio Helderberg made sure guests were kept entertained with a myriad of prizes from the event sponsors and live performances by talented local violinists & vocals.
Guest Speakers were Aleit Swanepoel from The Aleit Group and Alicia Buckle from Alicia Buckle School of Make-up. These two inspired the ladies with their individual journeys to success and Alicia gave tips on how to do your make-up en-route to work in 15 minutes (as long as you are not the driver!)
The menu included satay chicken rice wraps with fresh vegetables and marinated chicken served with sweet & sour Thai sauce; biltong tarts with cream cheese in a shortcrust pastry; poached prawn cocktails with avocado & cos lettuce; Caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella and basil on seeded crackers and savoury mushroom custard with a wild mushroom crust. Sweet endings included cupcakes with a twist: delectable macaroons and melt-in-the-mouth lemony meringues.
An aromatic cappuccino from the Coffee Roasting Company at Lourensford was the perfect way to end the event and savour the possibilities for next year’s event.
