Paarl will host South Africa’s Fisherman’s Friend StrongmanRun, the world’s biggest cross-country obstacle race on Saturday 13 October 2018. This is the first time this event, known as the ‘strongest race of all time’ is being held outside of Europe.
This rapidly growing cross-country-obstacle-race set on a long distance track including swimming, climbing and crawling obstacles. Paarl Rock, the country largest recorded mass of granite and the picturesque Berg River are the location and will add to the challenge and scenic beauty for this one-of-a-kind event.
The StrongmanRun 2018 will be the 3rd consecutive race in South Africa. It is the biggest mass start obstacle race in the world and take place every year across the globe in many cities and countries. The South African leg of the StrongmanRun is one of the Highlights on the race calendar due to the spectacular location in Paarl with it’s absolute beauty! Each year we see thousands of runners complete the race not only from South Africa but from all over the world. The StrongmanRun is not just another race but an experience you will keep with you for life. We go the extra mile to make the race memorable and unique. The StrongmanRun have a tradition for where runners dress up. Over the years we saw amazing and creative costumes and appreciate the creativity and team spirit of runners! Ferdinand Rabie, winner of the first Big Brother in 2002, has been awarded the three-year license to bring this popular event to Cape Town.
Runners can enter as individuals or teams, grab your moment, dress up, it’s the ultimate adrenaline kick.
There are three courses to choose from and very course will have amazing, fun and unique obstacles making the StrongmanRun an unforgettable experience.The three distances: 8km – entry fee R350, 14km – entry fee R450 and 21km – entry fee R750. Entrance is limited to 5000 over the three race distances.
