Learn the language of love with The Alliance Française

In 1883 eminent figures of the Art, the sciences, and politics, such as Jules Verne and Louis Pasteur, along with other illustrious visionaries, designed the structure for the Alliance Française to ensure the presence of French language and culture around the world. Nowadays, the Alliance Française network still promotes French language but also francophone as well as local cultures in a permanent and enriching dialogue.
The Alliance Française in Southern Africa comprises French language training centres in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe, teaching French to over 5,000 students a year, with more than 100 teachers.
The Alliance Française of Stellenbosch is situated in one of the oldest and most beautiful building in town, known as the Skuinshuis. It is an impressive historical building built in 1782 with a charming courtyard to the side and a delicious coffee shop to the front, next to the old Stellenbosch synagogue. The elegance of the building and its favourable location allow our students to experience the European tradition of knowledge acquisition right in the centre of town.
Everyone is welcome at the Alliance Française of Stellenbosch. They offer a wide variety of courses for all ages and purposes and in three different languages (French, Spanish and English). Our group courses start 7 February 2018, all ages, all purposes, all levels.
